The actress is best known for her role as Kate Capshaw, an American actress who has since retired. Her most well-known role is her performance as Willie Scott, an American nightclub performer and singer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), which was directed by her eventual husband Steven Spielberg. She has starred in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw's work in portraiture was exhibited in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was the daughter of Beverley Sue (nee Simon), who is a beauty and travel consultant and Edwin Leon Nail (an airline employee). At the age of five, she was years old when she moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw received a degree from the University of Missouri in education. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a teacher of special education at Southern Boone High School, Ashland, Missouri, as in Rock Bridge High School, Columbia, Missouri.
